Here are 3 Steps to Overcome Inundation and Flooding in Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta administration has prepared three steps in an effort to deal with inundation or flood.

It is done by adding mobile pump, making vertical drainage and retention pond, as well as dredging mud in the water channel

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma said those three steps were namely making vertical drainage, providing pumps and developing kolam olakan (retention pond).

"Handling inundation at one point of the basin is done by making retention pond and vertical drainage," he expressed, Tuesday (6/1).

His party was continuously handling inundation optimally in three locations, namely Bendungan Hilir, Pasar Baru and Bungur.

"It is done by adding mobile pump, making vertical drainage and retention pond, as well as dredging mud in the water channel," he explained.

He was optimistic that the ongoing handling at the three locations was running optimally thus it could prevent flooding or puddles during heavy rains.

"Vertical drainages have been made in three locations, including installing portable pump and dredging mud," he stated.
